Meet The Founders
A geologist with over 20 years’ experience in all facets of the mining and exploration industry, including both underground and open pit mining, and exploration for major commodities including gold, nickel, uranium, and magnetite.
Key management responsibilities have included the supervision and mentoring of geology teams of up to 11 geologists, managing exploration budgets of up to $25M, resource modelling of high-grade lode gold deposits, and designing exploration programmes to explore an entire Archean greenstone belt.
Jason’s 35 years in the mining industry have seen him work all over WA and in all aspects of exploration. He loves being out in the field and is equally comfortable executing a remote soil sampling programme or managing a large exploration camp.
His easy-going nature, combined with significant experience in heritage surveys, flora surveys, and landowner engagement, makes him a natural at all stakeholder engagement activities.
He has a strong work ethic and passion for doing the job right, and by taking the lead in training and mentoring our staff in their field skills, he has ensured all our staff can benefit from his years of experience.
Meet The Team
Paul, like Shane has over 20 years experience in all facets of the mining and exploration industry, including both underground and open pit mining and exploration for major commodities including gold, nickel and uranium.Paul has joined the team to provide Resource Modelling and Resource Estimation services to our valued clients needing a JORC Maiden Mineral Resource or upgrade. Paul is a member of the Ausimm and is a competent person to provide ASX signoff.
Pauls previous management responsibilities have included the supervision and mentoring of geology teams ofupto14 personnel, managing exploration budgets and drill contractors, end of month reconciliations, resource modelling of high-grade lode gold deposits and designing exploration programmes.
Tom has been with Barking for nearly 3 years first arriving to Perth from Germany with an impressive academic background. We had the pleasure of hiring Tom and from the first day to now and has never failed to impress not only us, but also our clients who are very keen for his return. Starting off as our graduate it didn’t take long for Tom to master the basic exploration roles from soil sampling, field mapping and to drill rig management. Tom is a keen hard working and enthusiastic geologist with a desire to learn. He loves the bush, in his spare time he loves to prospect.
Tom has worked in the Goldfields and Murchison areas of Western Australia either supervising drilling AC/RC/DDH programmes targeted at Li, Au including being responsible for all logging and sampling duties, including QAQC of sampling. He has also conducted early-stage mapping and sampling for Li, Au, Cu and base metals to test conceptual targets and provide the initial geological assessment of new tenement areas. Tom is also a great trainer for junior geologists in logging, sampling and mapping procedures. When not in the bush and in the office he spends time on geological interpretation of assay results and plan follow up drilling of anomalies.
Ryan has been with Barking for nearly 1.5 years and arrived to Australia fresh from France eager to start on his exploration journey. We were impressed with Ryan’s attitude and general personality and knew immediately he was a good fit for our team.
Ryan has experienced fly camping in the peak of Summer and has mastered the art of soil sampling and spent considerable time working on drill rigs for gold and manganese. Ryan is pictured looking quite chuffed and knowing he can confidently patch a puncture if required to get him home.
Ryan is capable of supervising drilling AC and RC, and enjoys logging and sampling duties, including QAQC of sampling.
